Senior Helpline

Senior Helpline is a national confidential listening service for older people provided by trained older volunteers. No landline call costs more than 30 cent.

Lines are open every day from 10am to 10pm, 365 days a year, including Christmas Day, St Stephen’s Day and New Year’s Day. Senior Help Line remains open when many statutory services are closed, and is recognised as a primary health care service helping to support older people in their community.

As well as responding to individual callers, Senior Help Line advocates nationally for older people in Ireland, representing their needs, concerns and wishes to media, the general public, politicians and key stakeholders.

A free telephone support service for people who feel alone or vunerable. The service offers a free telephone call to have a friendly chat and to check on your well being. We can also remind you of any Doctor or hospital appointments if necessary. Voluntary/Community Services Care Call – (Formerly The Friendly Call Service) , referrals come through public health nurses.

ALONE

ALONE supports older people in need through a befriending service, long-term housing and crisis support in the community. ALONE do not duplicate services provided by other organisations, but work in partnership to ensure the best outcome for the older person in need. Every older person who contacts Alone for help receives a direct service from Alone or are referred on to an organisation who can provide them with the support they require.

FOLD Ireland

FOLD Ireland provides apartments and houses for older people and families. In addition, the Association provides supported housing with 24 hour care for frail and older people.

FOLD Ireland enhances the quality of life for many people in the community by providing a unique combination of accommodation and associated service options. These include: Housing-with-Care and day care for frail older people and people with dementia; sheltered housing; and general needs accommodation for families.

The TeleCare service provides a range of highly effective safety and home security solutions that enable frail, older and disabled people to continue to live independently in their own homes. This service offers 24 hour support through a team of highly trained TeleCare call advisors.
