Dublin 15 Family Support Service

On Friday the 1st August we had Brid from the National Youth Council of Ireland (NYCI) out to visit us. Brid is a health promotor with NYCI. Our staff member Sophie Quinn graduated from Galway University in conjunction with NYCI with a level 7 diploma in Youth Health Promotion. This has enabled the organisation to be a contender in receiving the Health Quality Mark (HQM). Sophie along with the help from the team will be working on achieving the bronze health quality mark over the coming months. The HQM is a set of twelve quality standards designed to ensure best practices in youth health promotion. These standards are based on national and international guidelines, including those from the World Health Organization (WHO). Objectives:

  • Promote high standards in youth health promotion.
  • Encourage continuous improvement.
  • Recognize and reward organisations that excel in supporting young people's health.

The D15 Family Support team continues to offer a quality service to families in Dublin 15 who have a loved one in addiction, delivering evidence-based interventions such as the 5 Step Method, Steps 2 Cope, Education/Prevention, and Parental supports.  Here at D15 Family Support we offer a safe and confidential space for family members to look at reducing the stress and strain of their situation and give them the tools to deal with their situation in a healthier less stressful way.
