BLDATF D15 Family Support Service

News Update 06 May 2025

  • BLDATF hosted the Child and Family Support Network (CFSN) meeting on 23rd April 2025, which was chaired by Emily McElanary, the Tusla Child and Family Support Coordinator for Dublin 15. The meeting was well attended by services from Dublin 15. This is a great networking opportunity to discover what services are offering locally for service users.

  • D15 Family Support Service continues to offer a quality service to Family Member’s who have a loved one in addiction through internationally recognised evidence-based interventions.

    • The 5 Step Method helps families reduce the effects of stress and strain of their difficult situations. The service also delivers Steps 2 Cope for young people aged 11-17 years affected by parental substance misuse. Steps 2 Cope has been developed specifically for young people who have experienced parental alcohol or drug issues or mental health issues in their family. It can be difficult to understand what is going on in your family, discuss it with others or know how to cope with things.

    • Parenting supports are also available to families. They are currently offered on a 1:1 basis, with a view to group work.

    • Parenting Under Pressure (PUP) is a parenting intervention which helps parents identify and highlight where their strengths lie as a parent and what area’s they would like to improve.
