News update 10 July 2023

  • In the last two weeks, D15 Family Support has completed 11 one-to-one sessions with people affected by a loved one's drug or alcohol use
  • In June, D15 Family Support team members attended the 4th Annual AFINET Conference in Rotterdam University of Applied Science. Some of the work that the Alcohol, Drugs and Family & AFINET group undertook resulted in the development of both the 'Stress-Strain-Information-Coping-Support' Model and the '5 Step Method', which is now the core work of the D15 Family Support service in the BLDATF.
    • The D15 Family Support staff facilitated a session with C & F Training Ireland on the '5 Step Method'. The aim of the workshop was to give a good understanding of the method, the evidence base and the processes of the training and accreditation. It also involved some delivered input alongside many practical and participatory exercises based on the service's experiences working with affected family members in Ireland.
